Life’s toughest moments aren’t setbacks—they’re preparation, guiding us toward new opportunities and a deeper purpose.
When the recession hit in the late ’80s, my husband and I faced one of the toughest challenges of our lives. He was a builder and developer, and I, as a REALTOR®, helped sell his properties. But as the market collapsed, so did our livelihood. With little choice, we moved to the Gulf Coast for a fresh start. Together, we enrolled in nursing school, becoming RNs. Nursing allowed us to rebuild financially while serving others—a challenge that would shape our resilience and commitment to helping those in need.
The strength that carried me through those years stemmed from an earlier experience that shaped my values and purpose. At age ten, a diving accident left me with a broken neck, confined to a body cast and brace for months. I spent long, quiet hours with my grandmother, a small but powerful figure whose kindness and resilience inspired me profoundly. She showed me how empathy and small acts of kindness could have a significant impact on others. Her lessons left a lasting impression on me, fueling my desire to live a life of purpose and compassion.
After rebuilding our lives on the Gulf Coast, I felt the call of real estate once more. Starting over, my husband managed operations so I could focus on what I do best: helping people navigate the changes in their lives with care and empathy. Through the challenges of Hurricane Ivan, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2008 recession, I committed to being there for my clients, especially in their hardest times.
To meet my clients’ evolving needs, I dove into the intricacies of short sales, spending time with people, listening to their stories, and offering genuine support. I knew what it felt like to start from scratch. This empathy helped me become a reliable presence for my clients, someone they could turn to for guidance and hope. Many of my clients have become close friends, as I believe in blending professionalism with a personal touch to deliver the best experience possible.
Every challenge I’ve faced has reaffirmed my belief in God’s plan, preparing me for what lies ahead. When my husband passed away in 2023, it was an incredibly difficult time, but my work in real estate became a source of comfort. Helping others, building connections, and supporting clients brought light to my life, giving me a renewed sense of purpose each day.
Beyond real estate, I find joy in serving my community, whether through my brokerage’s charitable foundation, knitting items for donation, or working with organizations like the Council on Aging. I treasure time spent with my son, stepchildren, and six grandchildren. I’m also grateful for my close-knit group of friends with whom I share book club gatherings, cooking classes, and new hobbies. These connections keep me grounded and bring joy to my life every day.
With over 35 years in the area, I bring a deep understanding of local nuances—like which neighborhoods are flood-prone, evolving zoning regulations, and the market’s seasonal trends. My real estate career began by mapping properties through courthouse records, an experience that taught me to be a “real estate detective,” finding answers, resources, and connections. Today, I use that expertise to anticipate challenges and present solutions quickly, ensuring a seamless experience for my clients.
My work spans from first-time homebuyers to luxury and waterfront properties, investments, condos, and development land. I know how each location can uniquely shape your lifestyle—like how one body of water offers a completely different experience from another. My dedication to personalized guidance and sharing valuable insights helps you make informed decisions. Even beyond the transaction, I’m here to support you as your REALTOR® and friend for life!
Sincerely,
